Ah... speech and debate tournaments.

I just got back from a speech and debate tourney in Hayward California... right by Oakland/Berkeley/San Fransisco. I'm very proud to anounce that my team (Los Rios) BEAT THE HECK OUT OF U.C. BERKELEY...

That's right, a community college from Sacramento, with only 6 members that went to this tournament, pummeled down on high and mighty #15 school in the nation Cal/Berkeley who had 16 people competing.... OH YEAH.

Any how, I have to get back to homework. I just wanted the world to know that LOS RIOS COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT in Sacramento, CA. just cleaned up, thus proving that secondary education in community colleges is darn good and that our caliber of students can take on some of the top in the world. With that, I'm going to go sudy for the calculus exam I'm going to most likely fail. Humbug.

Oy...

A few hours ago, I was the witness of yet another act of police stupidity/racism in America. I was at the rail station to take the metro home from the mall, and there is apparantly a black gentleman who is doing something suspicious or something... and so a few cops corner him and he reaches into his pocket... and the police officers open fire. Hazah... he was trying to get his cellular phone to call for help because he was going into diabetic shock. To bad lead isn't a solute substitute for insulin. Here's the real kicker: the man was trying to ask for help and the cops told him to shut up and raise his hands, even when he was pleading to get them to try to understand his position. Trigger happy cops piss me off... once again the world has made me shake my head in hopelessness.
